Connecticut Football Club is proud to announce today that we have officially joined the Gotham FC Alliance. This alliance is a development program created by NJ/NY Gotham FC, the 2023 NWSL Champions, in conjunction with local youth clubs. The aim is to establish a tangible Professional Player Pathway for our young female players, accessible to all that delivers the next professional players. The Alliance will provide a clear talent identification process as well as competitive opportunities and coaching education.

The Gotham FC Professional Player Pathway Vision is -

To REDEFINE the standards and structure of a professional women’s soccer development pathway in the USA while generating homegrown talent that supply the Gotham FC 1st team.

"Gotham FC is one of the top clubs in the best women's league in the world. The Club has a vision to become the best club in the world while promoting local young talent. The alliance with Gotham will allow CFC to become part of that vision. Our players will have a pathway to the professional ranks and our goal now as a club is to produce at least one player who will represent Gotham." - Dave Clarke - CFC Director of Coach Education and Development

What to expect from the CFC - Gotham - Player Pathway

• Designated Professional Player Pathway staff as a link between Gotham and CFC for player Identification (“ID”) and upholding of deliverables.
• Talent ID clinics – visits to assess players ages 13 through 17 years old. Gotham will send coaching staff to CFC to take part and evaluate the talent pool.
• Establish regional “super teams” for each age group that will come together to sporadically train.
• Organize the first Gotham FC ID showcase tournament in 2025.

• Continuing Education opportunities for CFC Staff in conjunction with Gotham Staff
• Provide CFC with direct access to Gotham FC 1st team, 2nd Team, and resources.
• CFC Directors will work directly with Professional Player Pathway General Manager (GM) on other potential opportunities.

Connecticut Football Club, along with others in the region, are teaming up with Gotham FC to identify the top youth talent and provide high level competitive opportunities. The aim is to establish a professional player pathway accessible for all players. This Alliance will push us all to raise our standards of player development in the market as we collectively continue to grow the women’s game”.
